Obituary
Gene Alan Carr, age 67
Of Glenview, Illinois and formerly of Greenup, Illinois passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at his home.
Private family services will be held with burial in the Harmony Cemetery north of Greenup, Illinois. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home (formerly of Bishop Funeral Home) in Greenup, Illinois. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at

Gene was born on May 21, 1947 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Paul and Hazel (Thompson) Carr. He married Teresa Lyons on December 7, 1968 and she survives.
Gene was a professor of earth science at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, Illinois for 39 years. He retired in the summer of 2012.
Gene enjoyed collecting artwork, experimenting in the kitchen and taking photographs of nature.

His wife of 45 years, Teresa Carr of Glenview, Illinois
His daughters Erin Carr (Christopher Buer) of Gurnee, Illinois
and Jessica Carr of Cumming, Iowa
His granddaughters Victoria and Cassidy James of Cumming, Iowa
Gene was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Norman Carr.
