Geneva Ann Dhom, age 80, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 1:58 AM - Monday, October 23, 2017, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM – Friday, October 27, 2017, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, with Fr. Dean Probst celebrating mass.   Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM – Thursday, October 26, 2017, at the church and 1 hour before the mass.  In loving memory of Geneva, memorials may be made to the St. Thomas Church.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Geneva was born on February 16, 1937, in Ste. Marie, Illinois the daughter of Edwin and Monica (Ritz) Radke.  She married James Dhom on February 16, 1963, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie, Illinois.

Geneva graduated from Newton Community High School in 1956, and worked as a dispatcher for the Jasper County Sheriff's Office for 33 years before retiring.

Geneva was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois.  She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and traveling.

Geneva is survived by: Husband of 54 years – James Dhom of Newton, Illinois

Sons – Brian Dhom of Newton, Illinois and Kevin Dhom (Fiancé Kim Mason) of Newton, Illinois

Grandchildren – Zachary Dhom of St.Louis, Missouri, Hannah Dhom (Fiancé Dylan Davidson) of Newton, Illinois and Brycen (wife Jordan) Dhom of Maryville, Illinois

Brothers – Delmar (Theresa) Radke of Springfield, Illinois, Maurice (Vanna) Radke of St. Peters, Missouri and Kenneth (Charlene) Radke of Findley, Ohio

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sharon Dhom, brother Loraine "Bud" and Maynard Radke.
