Gerald L. "Pete" Chancellor, age 80

of Toledo, IL went to be with Jesus at 4:20 PM, Thursday, August 15, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Bishop Funeral Home, Greenup, IL with Pastor Scott Sims officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenup Cemetery with Military services provided by the Greenup VFW. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2013 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lincolnland Hospice, Lincolnland Visiting Nurses or to the Cancer Center at Sarah Bush Hospital, with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Pete was born in Mattoon, IL on July 5, 1933 to William E. and Fern (Hanner) Chancellor.
Pete married Joanna Colangelo on October 26, 1957, in Oaktown, IL. He served his country proudly in the US Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He worked for Western Electric for 22 years, for Illinois Consolidated in Mattoon for 20 years and at Mattoon Wal-Mart after his retirement. Pete was a member of the Greenup Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joanna of 57 years; his son David of Toledo; his daughter Sandy and her husband Billy Gilbert of Greenup; his granddaughter Ashley and her husband Rex Whetsell of Charleston; his grandson, Adam Gilbert of Greenup; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Vance and Anna Chancellor of Toledo, and Don and Rosie Chancellor of Greenup; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine "Lilly Beth". He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Ray; his sister-in-law, Marilyn; and his nephew Danny.
