Geraldine J. Clark, age 88, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 3:51 PM – Monday, June 20, 2022, at Helia Healthcare in Newton, Illinois.
Services celebrating Geraldine's life will be held at 10:00 AM – Friday, June 24, 2022, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois with Mike Knepper officiating. Burial will be in the Kibler Cemetery in rural Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM - Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the funeral home. In loving memory of Geraldine, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for children. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .
Geraldine Joy Clark was born on January 25, 1934, in Jasper County, Illinois, the daughter of Neil and Esther (Clagg) Johnson. She married Owen Scott Clark on June 2, 1951, in Newton, Illinois.
Geraldine worked for over 25 years at the Newton IGA.
Geraldine was a member of the Central Christian Church in Newton, Illinois. She was a fantastic cook and was known for her noodles. Geraldine enjoyed researching her family through genealogy and traveling.
Geraldine is survived by-
Husband of 71 years – Owen Scott Clark of Newton, Illinois
4 Children – Marcea Maxon of Newton, Illinois, David Clark of Newton, Illinois, Donald (Geneva) Clark of Newton, Illinois and Alan Clark of Robinson, Illinois
9 Grandchildren – Jeremy (Jennifer) Clark, Matthew (Jenni) Maxon, Allison (Michael) Hasler, Duane Clark, Doug (Jamie) Clark, Bill (Amy Finn) Clark, Donna (Fred) Finn, Jason (Karen) Clark and Amanda (Billy) Parker
16 great grandchildren
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, 3 grandchildren Denise Clark, Ben Clark and Joe Clark, 4 brothers Gene, Donald, Dean and Burl Johnson, 3 sisters Beverly Sparks, Norma Clark and Mary Marshall and son-in-law Ron Maxon.
