Glenda Faye Fehrenbacher, age 85
Glenda Faye Fehrenbacher, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 4:45 PM – Friday, July 20, 2018, at Newton Care Center in Newton, Illinois.
Funeral services celebrating Glenda's life will be held at 10:00 AM - Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Rev. Steve Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Honey Cemetery in Bogota, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Monday, July 23, 2018, at the funeral home. In loving memory of Glenda, memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's Home 949 County Road 1300 N Carmi, Illinois 62821. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .
Glenda was born on September 17, 1932, in Newton, Illinois, the daughter of John Scott and Opal (Spelbring) Scott. She married Glenn Fehrenbacher on November 13, 1950, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and he survives.
Glenda worked Newton IGA and worked as a cook at Newton Rest Haven.
Glenda was a member of the Bogota Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing crafts, shopping and spending time with her family.
Glenda is survived by: Husband of 67 years – Glenn Fehrenbacher of Newton, Illinois
Children – Lana (Merle) Royse of Olney, Illinois; Brenda (James) Robinson of Newton, Illinois; Jeff (Linda) Fehrenbacher of Newton, Illinois and Penny (James) Carman of Oblong, Illinois
Grandchildren – Derek (Marla) Royse, Leslie (Austin) Calico, Chris Hasler (friend Red), Michael (Allison) Hasler, Sonja (Heather) Heinzel, Lindsay (Scott) Burton, Stacey Stephens, Jesse (Kaitlin) Stephens, Cody (Jamie) Carman and several step grandchildren.
10 great grandchildren and several step great grandchildren
3 great-great grandchildren and several step great-great grandchildren
several nieces and nephews also survive
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Lance Hasler, brothers John and Donavan Scott and a sister Marcella Tracey.
