Glenna Mae Parkerson, age 78
Of Newton, Illinois, and former resident of Rantoul, Illinois, passed away at 6:25 AM – Friday, September 2, 2016, at her home.
Funeral services celebrating Glenna's life will be held at 11:00 AM – Monday, September 5, 2016, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Jeremy Weedman officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. Private burial will be in the Danville National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois. In loving memory of Glenna, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund or HSHS St. Anthony's Hospice. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.
Glenna was born on July 16, 1938, in Pine Hill, Kentucky, the daughter of James and Lula (Jones) Cloud. She married Jack Dennis Parkerson on July 1, 1958, in Pine Hill, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2000.
Glenna worked at Bell Sports in Rantoul for over 20 years and retired in 2015.
Glenna was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was completely devoted to her family and lots of wonderful friends. She was a very fun lady with her life full of laughter and love.
Glenna is survived by: children - Sherry (Jim) Weedman of Casey, Illinois; Jeff (Vicki) Parkerson of Potomac, Illinois; Mike (Diane) Parkerson of Gifford, Illinois and Lisa Parkerson of Newton, Illinois. Brothers - Jackie Cloud of Hamilton, Ohio and George (Jan) Cloud of Mt Vernon, Kentucky. Sisters - Inice Harper of Mansfield, Ohio; Alma Jean (Wendell) Hall of Lexington, Kentucky; Doris (Bill) Machal of Lexington, Kentucky and Priscilla Cloud of Lexington, Kentucky.

2 very loyal, devoted dogs that she loved dearly
Glenna was preceded in death by husband; brothers B.F. Cloud and J.M. Cloud; 1 sister Evelyn York; grandson Wes Weedman and a great grandson Graham Weedman.
