Obituary
Gloria J. Ochs, age 73
Of Newton, Illinois passed away at 8:47 AM – Sunday, September 14, 2014
at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM – Friday, September 19, 2014 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, IL with Fr. Al Kemme celebrating mass. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM -Thursday, September 18, 2014 and 1 hour before the mass at the church.
In loving memory of Gloria, memorials may be made to Pulmonary Hypertension Association, St. Thomas Catholic Church or St. Thomas Catholic School.
Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Gloria Jane was born on April 22, 1941 in rural Jasper County, Illinois the daughter of Henry J. and Coletta M. (Ritz) Kocher. She graduated from Newton Community High School in 1959.
She married Louis Bernard Ochs on May 6, 1961 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, IL and he survives.
Gloria and Louis became owners of Louis Ochs Chevrolet Buick in Newton, IL in 1983 and she worked alongside Louis in the business until retirement in 2010.
She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, IL.
Gloria was an active member of the Jasper County Home Extension and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed working in her flower garden, crocheting, sewing and quilting; but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Son- Brian L. (Krista) Ochs of Newton, IL
Daughters- Gail R. (Mike) Garbe of Dieterich, IL
Karla M. (Chuck) Dehner of Newburgh, IN
9 Grandchildren- Nathan Garbe, Megan Garbe, Abigayle Ochs, Olivia Dehner , Lauren Garbe,
Andrew Dehner, William Ochs, Logan Garbe and Samuel Dehner
Brother- Harold (Clara) Kocher of Newton, IL
Sisters- Virginia Ochs of Newton, IL; Arlene Gumble of Ingraham, IL and Carolyn (Jim) Blank of Olney, IL
Sister-in-Law- Marilyn Kocher of Newton, IL
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Harlan Kocher.
