Greta McConnell, age 69, of Olney, passed away on March 5, 2015 at Deaconess Hospital, in Evansville, Indiana.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Celebration of Life service will be on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 1 PM with a visitation one hour before service time in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney. Reverend Tim Bursott will be officiating.

Greta was born on September 8, 1945 in Olney, the daughter of Byron Laverne and Freda Marie (Stover) McGregor. She later married Floyd Wayne McConnell in November 1981 in Noble. He preceded her in death.

She worked at General Foods, grocery store, AMF and the Salvation Army. She enjoyed crafting especially working with leather, doing research about her family ancestry, and talking and visiting with people. She attended Elm Street Christian Church at a younger age and also went to Southern Baptist Church. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Greta is survived by 3 sons, Tod Edward Steury, and wife Jodi of Columbia, Tennessee, Bradley Wayne Hoskins, and wife Jill of Henderson, Kentucky, Jeffery Daniel Hoskins, and fiancé Tina Marie Cannon of Olney; 2 daughters, Debra Kay Porter, and husband Joseph of Momence, Illinois, Tara Marie McConnell, and fiancé Joseph Carl Cannon of Olney; step-daughter, Sabrina Weiss, and fiancé Joe of San Diego, California; 2 sisters, Janet M. Engelhardt, and husband Richard of Champaign, Rhonda L. McGee, and husband Douglas of Olney; sister-in-law, Doris McGregor of Wynoose; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd Wayne McConnell, parents Byron Laverne and Freda Marie McGregor, and brother Howard L. McGregor.
