Guy Janssen, 59 years, 1 month and 22 days, of Rosiclare, Illinois, passed away at 10:30 PM - Friday, March 19, 2021, at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare, Illinois.

Guy was born to Frank and Mary Janssen on January 25 ^th , 1962, in Marshall, Minnesota. He was the 6 ^th of their 7 children. Born with profound Down's Syndrome, Guy's challenges and limitations in life were enormous. His presence reminded us that life is imperfect, and fragile. Like most children with Down's Syndrome, Guy was a very loving child, freely giving the warmest and tightest of hugs.

Guy's last years were spent at a facility called Whispering Oaks in Rosiclare, Illinois. He was loved and well cared for by people who became his family. One commented, "Guy is just like a 6-month-old baby, only he has about 60 years of experience at it", describing how Guy would reach his arms up to help get his shirt on. Guy died in Rosiclare on March 19 ^th , 2021, after his health declined over the previous year.

Guy is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Nick Janssen of Houston, Texas; Deborah (and Dan) Skeen of Denver, Colorado; Duane (and Tracey) Janssen of Anchorage, Alaska, Scott (and Barbara) Janssen of Gilbert, Arizona, sister-in-law Kim Janssen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and his adopted family at Whispering Oaks in Rosiclare, Illinois. Guy was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Janssen, and two brothers, Tom Janssen of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Gerald Janssen of Anchorage, Alaska.
