Hazel L. Culp, age 78

of Willow Hill, Illinois passed away at 12:57 AM – Monday, September 21, 2015 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, Illinois.
Funeral services celebrating Hazel's life will be held at 10:30 AM – Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois with Rick Britton officiating. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery in rural Willow Hill, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the funeral home. In loving memory of Hazel, memorials may be made to the Willow Hill United Methodist Church or Wound Warrior project. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.
Hazel was born on October 26, 1936 in Rural Jasper County, Illinois the daughter of Aaron and Rosetta (Hart) Boyd. She married Cleon A. Culp on April 30, 1955 in Porterville, Illinois and he survives.
Hazel worked at Newton Rest Haven in Newton, Illinois for 25 years. She attended the Willow Hill United Methodist Church and was a member of the Robinson American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed raising flowers, attending festivals, making crafts and collecting antiques. Hazel was a big fan of Elvis Presley and George Strait. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Hazel is survived by: Husband of 60 years – Cleon A. Culp of Willow Hill, Illinois Children - Kevin Culp of Flat Rock, Illinois; Lisa (David) Connor of Newton, Illinois and Craig Culp of Willow Hill, Illinois Grandchildren – Ryan (Amanda) Connor, Jordan (Jessica) Connor, Koale Culp, Clay Culp, Kaycee Culp and Chris (Joy) Wesley Great Grandchildren – Ashton Wesley, Austin Wesley, Stephen Culp, Braxton Culp and a great granddaughter due in January 2016. Sister – Bernadine Jones of Newton, Illinois Special Pet – Bozo the Cat
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, son Cleon A. "Connie" Culp, Jr; daughter-in-law Janet Maxwell Culp; brothers Robert Hart, James Boyd and Otto Boyd; sisters Irene Culp and Esther Gordon.
