Howard L. Ritchie, age 92, of Parkersburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2017 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home with Masonic rites being held at 7 PM.  Funeral service will be Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10 AM in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Linda Garrett will be speaking. Graveside service will be at 12PM (NOON) at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin.

He was born on July 16, 1924 in Creek County, Oklahoma, the son of Howard C. and Celia (Laswell) Ritchie. He later married Donna (Whitie) Luttrell on November 29, 1947 in Carlyle. She preceded him in death on December 26, 2015.

Howard served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Machinist Mate 2nd Class. He also worked as a production supervisor for Ashland Oil Company. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Parkersburg. He enjoyed quail hunting. He was a member of the Olney VFW Post #4226, American Legion Post #30, West Salem Masonic Lodge #866. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Howard is survived by his son Harry Ritchie and wife Debbie of Flora; 3 daughters, Patsy Nell Neiswenter and husband Tom of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, Donna Hagen and husband Dusty of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Teresa Diel of Parkersburg; sister Sharon Shelby of Herod; 2 sisters-in-laws, Wanda Gillis of Odin and June Farthing of Odin; 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by wife Donna Ritchie, parents Howard C. and Celia Ritchie, son Jerry Ritchie, 3 sisters Sue Gray, Billie Logsdon, and Roberta Stone, brother Don Ritchie, and grandson Billy Hagen.
