Irene Evelyn (Wolf) Blievernicht, age 87, of Teutopolis, Illinois, passed away at 2:20 AM – Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham, Illinois.

F uneral services will be held at –10:00 AM - Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at St Paul Lutheran Church, 13204 North 2300th Street Wheeler, Illinois (north of Dieterich), with Pastor Dean Herberts officiating.  The burial will be in the St Paul's Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 PM – Monday, September 16, 2024, at the church, and from 9:00 AM, until service time.  In loving memory of Irene, memorials may be made to the St Paul's Cemetery Fund.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.  The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left www.meyerfh.com.

Irene was born on September 30, 1936, in Mattoon, Illinois, the daughter of Reinhart and Clara (Alwardt) Wolf.  She graduated from Effingham High School with the Class of 1954.  Irene was united in marriage to John Salzman Blievernicht on January 1, 1956, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on February 8, 2019.

Irene and John farmed and raised their family on the family farm in rural Teutopolis.  She was also a cook for the Dieterich School System for several years and later she worked at Rural King in Effingham.

Irene was a lifelong member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, where she was baptized on October 18, 1936, and confirmed in Christ on April 2, 1950.  She was also a member of the Saint Paul's Ladies Aid and Choir, Dieterich PTO, and Effingham County Home Extension. Irene was always willing to lend a hand and helped deliver Meals on Wheels and assisted with the Easter Program in Effingham County.

Children- Regina (Bill) Baxter of Teutopolis, Illinois; Michael (Kim) Blievernicht of Newton, Illinois; Dennis (Kathleen) Blievernicht of Teutopolis, Illinois; Dean (Sue) Blievernicht of Casey, Illinois; and Steve (Elaine) Blievernicht of Teutopolis, Illinois

Grandchildren Doug (Melani) Baxter, David (Amanda) Baxter, Sharon (Eric) Schackmann, James Blievernicht, Ana (Michael) Meyer, Elise (Dane) Crosson, Bo (Ali) Blievernicht, Trevor (Kiersten) Borries, Austin Brian, Kyle (Ashley) Blievernicht, Noah Blievernicht, Evan Blievernicht, and Elle Blievernicht

Great-grandchildren Riley Baxter, Carson Baxter, Layla Baxter, Evelyn Baxter, Collin Baxter, Grace Baxter, Addison Meyer, Kason Meyer, Emmy Meyer, Kosta Blievernicht, Aria Garza, Charlotte Borries, Brayden Schackmann, Ashley Schackmann, Katie Schackmann, and Allison Schackmann

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandchildren Daniel Baxter and Ryan Blievernicht, and great grandchildren Ian Schackmann, Madison Schackmann and Jordan Schackmann and brother-in-law Eugene Campbell.
