Jack Edward Christensen, age 66

Jack Edward Christensen, age 66, of Mason, Illinois, passed away at 8:14 AM - Friday, April 7, 2017, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating Jack's life will be held at 10:00 AM – Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with Nate Hagen officiating.  Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery west of Latona, Illinois.  Visitiaton will be held 4:00-7:00 PM – Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at the funeral home.  In loving memory of Jack, memorials may be made to the family.

Jack was born on February 13, 1951, in Paxton, Illinois, the son of George and Mary Lou (Bogard) Christensen.

Jack worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for many years and later worked and retired from Steven's Industries in Teutopolis, Illinois, after 17 years of service.

Jack was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron #1168 of the Edgewood American Legion, where he served for over 20 years as Squadron commander.  He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with children and grandchildren.

Children – George (Heather) Christensen of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jessica Vick of Lockwood, Missouri, Tia Loy (Cecil Robinson) of Mode, Illinois and Marah White (Donnie Bowen) of Iola, Illinois
10 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren

Jack was preceded in death by his parent and a special uncle Olie Christensen.
