James "Fred" Fouty, age 84
of Newton, IL passed away at 9:53 AM -Friday August 16, 2013 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM – Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton, IL with Rev. Mike Knepper officiating. Burial will follow in the Brick Cemetery, Newton, IL. Visitation will be held from 12-1 PM, prior to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Fred was born February 23, 1929 in Yale, IL, the son of Frank Fouty and Nora Alice (Akins) Fouty. He worked for L.S. Heath and Sons in Robinson for over 20 years, was a member of the St. Marie American Legion and attended Central Christian Church, Newton, IL. Fred served his country in the United States Army.
He married Lora Ellen Stewart on December 24, 1949 and she survives. Also surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Rick Seamon, Oblong, IL and Jean and Don Mitchell, Kansas City, MO; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Verma Elder and Thelma Freeland; and 3 brothers in infancy.
