James C. "Jimmy Joe" Price, age 70

Of Newton, IL passed away at 5:16 PM – Sunday, November 11, 2012 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Scott Avenue Christian Church in rural Newton, IL with Mark Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery in Willow Hill, IL. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL and also ½ hour prior to the service at the church. In loving memory of Jimmy Joe, memorials may be made to the Scott Avenue Building Fund. Arrangements are under the care of the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL.

James C. better known as "Jimmy Joe" was born in Willow Hill, IL on September 3, 1942 the son of Ernie and Violet (Kidwell) Price.
He married Becky Roberts on September 21, 1963 in Newton, IL.
Jimmy Joe retired from Newton Broom after 44 years of service. He was known by many as a bartender at
Hi-Bender's in Ste. Marie, IL and the KC Hall in Newton, IL.
He was a member of Scott Avenue Christian Church.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and fishing.

He is survived by-
Wife of 49 years Becky Price of Newton, IL
Daughters - Misty (Bob) Kurtz of Newton, IL and Heidi (Danny) Fitts of Oblong. IL
Grandchildren - Aaron (Kara) Kurtz; Kashtyn (Tyler) Shull; Kaley Fitts and Brock Fitts
Great Grandson Noah Kurtz and one Great Grandson expected in December
Sister- Rowena (Mike) Swisher of Willow Hill, IL

Jimmy Joe was preceded in death by his parents.
