James Ross Parrott, age 89 of Olney, passed away at 5:30 AM on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville.

Visitation will be from 11 AM - 1 PM on Friday, May 3, 2019 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral service will be at 1 PM 2019 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney. Burial will be at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont. Pastor Kevin McGinnis will be officiating.

James was born on June 1, 1929 the son of Russell and Sarah (Armstrong) Parrott. He later married Louise Alberta Cochran on March 14, 1954 in Flora. She survives.

He served in US Army during the Korean War. He worked at AMF for many years. He was a member of Eureka Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening and watching westerns. Some of his favorite shows included Gunsmoke and the Big Valley. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

James is survived by his wife of 65 years Louise Parrott of Olney; 2 daughters, Delores Kay Knight of Albion and Alice Moudy (Roy Dee) of Allendale; sister Martha Jealene Walters of Dewit, IL; and 8 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Sarah Parrott, sister Elda Ilene Jackson and 3 brothers John Parrott, Russell Allen Parrott and Alfred Parrott.
