Mr. James Dean Utley, Sr. age 49
Of rural Newton, IL passed away at 9:19 PM – Monday, February 20, 2012 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM – Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Newton, IL with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Friday, February 24, 2012 at the funeral home. In loving memory of Jim, memorials may be made to Jim's grandchildrens education fund. James Dean Utley was born on November 20, 1962 in Alva, OK the son of Jackie Dean and Janie (Icke) Utley.
Jim was an employee at the GSI plant in Newton, were he had worked for the last 13 years. Jim served his country in the United States Army during the Desert Storm War. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Island Grove, IL. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings and NASCAR with Casey Kahne being his favorite driver.
Jim is survived by: Mother – Janie Shelly of Newton, IL 5 Children – James Dean (Special Friend Cindy York) Utley, Jr. of Newton, IL; Ashley (Joe) Hoene of Yale, IL; Josh Utley of Robinson, IL; Connie Ruholl of Normal, IL and Emily Utley of Newton, IL. Special Friend – Linda Utley of Robinson, IL 1 Brother – Henry (Cheryl) Utley of Newton, IL 5 Grandchildren – Brianna York, Caden York, Miley Utley, Tyler Hoene and Zoey Utley
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Jackie Dean Utley, step father Ed Shelly and a sister Georgie Utley.
