Jarrett Sylvester Zumbahlen, age 24, of rural Newton, Illinois, passed away at 7:50 PM – Wednesday, May 11, 2022, in rural Newton, Illinois.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, with Fr. Dean Probst celebrating mass.  Burial will be in the Chapel Cemetery near Falmouth, Illinois.  Visitation will be held at the church, 4:00-7:00 PM - Monday, May 16, 2022, and again Tuesday, 9:30-10:30 AM.  In loving memory of Jarrett, memorials may be made to the St. Thomas School.  Arrangements are under the care of Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

Jarrett was born on December 30, 1997, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Craig and Sandra (Smith) Zumbahlen.  He graduated from Newton Community High School with the Class of 2016.

Jarrett was a Carpenter's Apprentice with the Carpenter's Union #243.  He was currently working at Marathon in Robinson and farmed with Dad and Uncle.

Jarrett was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Jarrett was preceded in death by his grandparents – Sylvester Zumbahlen, Frank Smith and Neta Smith.
