Obituary

Jeanne D. Langford, age 91
Of Newton, IL passed away at 7:35 AM – Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM - Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL. Graveside service will follow visitation at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, IL with Rev. Jack Kilburn officiating. Memorials may be made in honor of Jeanne to the Donor's Choice.

Jeanne was born on January 25, 1922 in Keenes, IL the daughter of Dr. W.A. and R.C "Kit" (Keen) Dulaney.
She married Kenneth Theodore Langford on April 30, 1941 and he preceded her in death on November 8, 1974.
Jeanne was a member of the Central Christian Church in Newton, IL.
Jeanne retired as a school teacher after many years of service. She started out teaching in a one room school house in Wayne County. Later she was a special education teacher in Collinsville, Springfield and Rose Hill.
She was the Pre-Vocational Coordinator for SESP and taught at Frontier Community College.
Jeanne received several awards for her special education activities.
Jeanne was a 60+ year member of the Order of Eastern Star and had served as past Worthy Matron.
She was past president of the Jasper County Retired Teachers Association and served on the legislative committee for the Retired Teachers Association. Jeanne was a former member of the Newton Women's Club.
She was also a member of the Republican National Committee.
Jeanne enjoyed traveling and owned the J.L. Tour Company for many years.
In recent years she played the piano for the Willow Hill United Methodist Church.
Jeanne is survived by-
Daughter Cassie Langford of Newton, IL
Grandson- Brad (Bree) Lawler of Sheridan, WY
Great Grandchildren – Myah Lawler and Jillian Lawler
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers Halsey, Cotton and Herman Dulaney;
sisters Catherine Warren and Flo Dulaney.
