Jerome Daniel "Corndog Jerry" Massey, age 73

Of Newton, IL passed away at 1:15 PM – Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Marion VA Medical Center in Marion, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL with Rev. Stephen Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, IL with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM – Monday, April 2, 2012 at the funeral home. In loving memory of Jerry, memorials may be made to the
V A Medical Center Community Living Cemetery.

Jerome was born on July 3, 1938 in Bagota, IL the son of Eugene and Josephine (Rauch) Massey.
Jerome served his country in the United States Army.
He was known by many as "Corndog Jerry" working his concession at many area events. He was a member of the Jasper Post #20 American Legion and the VFW Post #7537.
He enjoyed being in the outdoors hunting, fishing and cooking.

Brothers – Bob (Lois) Massey of Newton, IL; Max (LuLubell) Massey of Kinmundy, IL and Keith (Marilyn) Massey of Dubis, IN
Sisters – Rita (Don) Koontz of Newton, IL; Marietta Kerner of Ypsilinti, MI and Carolyn (Gib) Woods of Newton, IL.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kay Massey, daughter Mary Kay Tumlinson and a brother Pat Massey.
