Jesse J.Cox, age 93

May 9, 1930 – December 18, 2023

Jesse J. Cox, age 93, of Olney, Illinois, passed away at 7:30 PM – Monday, December 18, 2023, in Olney, Illinois.

A celebration of life will be held 10:00 Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Elm Street Christian Church, 727 E. Elm Street, Olney, Illinois 62450, with full military rites at the church following the service. A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elm Street Christian Church, or St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. Jesse was born on May 9, 1930, in Old Shawneetown, Illinois, the son of Luther and Leona (Farlow) Cox. Jesse married the love of his life June Pool on June 1, 1978, in Brighton, Michigan and she preceded him in death on December 21, 2021.

Jesse was a proud veteran who served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Jesse was a faithful member of the Elm Street Christian Church, , the VFW and the American Legion, was a supporter of the Wounded Warriors. Jesse had a special love for his grandchildren, Bible Study and target practice with his guns.

Melissa (James) Gates of Olney, Illinois
Several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren
Cousins: Ana Dunk of Brighton, Michigan and Carman Stover of Soddy Daily, Tennessee

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents and wife June.
