Jessie L. Weemer, age 84

Jessie L. Weemer, age 84, of Springfield, Illinois, and formerly of Greenup, Illinois, passed away at 10:40 PM - Friday, March 19, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM – Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Block Cemetery south east of Greenup, Illinois, with Pastor Roger James officiating.  In loving memory of Jessie, memorials may be made to the Cumberland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Auxiliary. Jessie was born on May 21, 1936, in Greenup, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Katherine (Webb) Weemer.

Jessie retired from the Illinois Secretary of State in Springfield, after 30 years of service.  Following her retirement, she volunteered at Doctors Hospital for 10 years.

Jessie is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, including her best friend of 60 years Mary Moss.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Lois (James) Shepherd, Delores (Wallace) Walden, brother Donald Weemer and her fiancé Keith Walden.
