James Robert "Jim" Harmon, age 82, of Olney, passed away on February 12, 2015 at Deaconess Hospital Main Campus, in Evansville, Indiana.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 4 – 7 PM in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral service will be at 7 PM in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney. Cremation rites will be accorded. Julia Thrasher will be officiating.

Jim was born on July 11, 1932 in Richland County, the son of Harvey "Dave" and Pearl (Nowak) Harmon.

He worked for many years for Illini Builders in Olney doing carpentry and construction work. He enjoyed playing baseball and softball and going roller skating when he was younger. He was an avid hunter and loved fishing. He was known for his garden that he grew every year and would share all of his produce with neighbors, family and friends. He also enjoyed going to local baseball and softball games. He was a member of the Olney Archers Club. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his sister Pat Grove, and husband Jerry of Olney; brother-in-law, Harold Roth of Ida, Michigan; sister-in-law, Barb Harmon, of Olney; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey "Dave" and Pearl Harmon, 2 brothers, Bill Harmon and Gene Harmon and sister, Betty Roth and sister-in-law Joanne Harmon.
