Joan Marie Bierman, age 63
Of Newton, IL passed away at 5:55 PM – Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Voelker Home for Seniors in rural Mason, IL.
Funeral mass celebrating Joan's life will celebrated at 10:30 AM – Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, IL with Fr. Al Kemme celebrating mass. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 PM – Monday, March 25, 2013 at the church. In loving memory of Joan, memorials may be made to the St. Thomas School. Joan was born on July 17, 1949 in Effingham, IL the daughter of Edwin and Ana Mae (Brummer) Jansen. She married William Bierman on February 5, 1972 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Edgewood, IL and he survives.
Joan was a 1967 graduate of St. Anthony's High School in Effingham and a graduate of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston with a Bachelors degree in Education.
Joan was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

5 Brothers – Lonnie Jansen, Nick Jansen, Tom Jansen, Joe Jansen and Stan Jansen all of Mason, IL
Sisters – Betty Bailey of Mason, IL and Ellen Weber of Wakefield, IL

Joan was preceded in death by her parents.
