Joan Taylor, age 87

March 26, 1932 – July 28, 2019

Joan Taylor, age 87, of Mattoon, Illinois, passed away 5:30 AM - Sunday, July 28, 2019, at the daughter's home in Greenup, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM – Friday, August 2, 2019, at the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois, with Greg Bolt officiating.  Burial will be in the Aten Cemetery in Hidalgo, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service.  In loving memory of Joan, memorials may be made to Camp New Hope.

Dolores Joan, better known as Joan was born on March 26, 1932, in St. Mary of the Woods, Indiana.  She married James Finis Taylor on November 6, 1954, in Greenup, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on January 24, 2016.

Joan retired from General Electric in Mattoon, after 27 years of service.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joan is survived by: Children – Terri (Pat) Crum of Mattoon, Illinois; Sherri Maxwell of Greenup, Illinois and Stacey Taylor of Mattoon, Illinois

Grandchildren – Tiffany (Robert) Farris, Renee (Josh) Myers, Jessie (Ethan) Marti, Josie (Latham) McMahon

Great Grandchildren – Nathaniel Farris, Briley Myers, Paislee Myers, Bryck Myers, Granger Marti and Becklie McMahon

Sister – Wanda Callahan of Neoga, Illinois

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother James Stateler and a sister Jean Huddleston.
