John Carl Auteberry, Jr, age 75

April 7, 1946 – June 16, 2021

John Carl Auteberry, Jr., age 75, of Willow Hill, Illinois, passed away at 3:53 AM – Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Deaconess Hospital Gateway in Newburgh, Indiana.

Private family services will be held, with burial in the Plainfield Cemetery east of Rose Hill, Illinois.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

John was born on April 7, 1946, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of John Carl and Mamie (Wharf) Autberry, Sr.  He married Brenda Kay Williams on March 17, 1965, and she preceded him in death on January 12, 2012.

John worked in the oil field for many years and at Richland Manufacturing for 10 years.

John was a member of the Olney Eagles.  He enjoyed horse racing, hunting dogs and supporting the Newton Eagles.

John is survived by:

Children – Sherry Auteberry (Danny Herrin) of Olney, Illinois; Deana "Dee" Auteberry (Victor Franz) of Lawrenceville, Illinois

Diana (Scott) Billingsley of Olney, Illinois; Denise Auteberry (Hunter Garrard
) of Olney, Illinois and John "J.C." (Hope) Auteberry of Willow Hill, Illinois

Siblings – Charlie Auteberry, Linda Kay Carlson, Barbara Berry, Danny Auteberry, Carolotta Barbee, Ginger Turner, Jeanie Hartke, Lynnette Fugate, Rosemarie Ruholl and Terri Asbell

9 Grandchildren and 14 Grandchildren

John was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters Judy Stevens and Neva Auteberry and a brother Steve Auteberry.
