Mr. John Calvin "Kelly" Jourdan, age 86
Of Newton, IL passed away at 12:15 AM - Thursday, September 29, 2011 at VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville, IL.
Graveside services celebrating Kelly's life will be held at 1:00 PM – Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, IL with Mark Wilkinson officiating. There will also be full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion.
Kelly was born on May 28, 1925 in Jasper County, IL the son of James Edmond and Lola (Sparks) Jourdan. He married Clara Clagg on March 28, 1956 and she survives.
Kelly was a member of the United States Navy and served his country in World War II and the Korean War.
Kelly was a member of the Jasper Post #20 American Legion and a life member of the Newton VFW Post # 7537 where he served as commander for 8 years.
Kelly is survived by his wife Clara Jourdan of Newton, IL.
Sons- Lee (Julie) Jourdan of Newton, IL and Ed Jourdan (Julie) Jourdan of Martinsville, OH
Daughters- Madonna Sue (Larry) Sroka of Las Vegas, NV and Ann (Jerry) Keaffee of Enfield, South Carolina.
Sister- Eleanor ( Burl) Scurlock of Newton, IL.
8 Grandchildren and Several Great Grandchildren.
Kelly was preceded in death by his parents.
