John Olin Flinn, age 74

John O. Flinn, age 74, of Wheeler, Illinois, passed away at 9:12 AM – Saturday, January 22, 2022, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Friday, January 28, 2022, at the St Aloysius Catholic Church in Bishop Creek (Dieterich), Illinois, with Fr. Frank Folino, OFM, celebrating mass. Burial will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Thursday, January 27, 2022, at the church and from 10:00-10:30 AM – Friday, at the church. In loving memory of John, memorials may be made to the Ag in the Classroom. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois. John was born on April 2, 1947, the son of Jacob and Grace (Barlow) Flinn. He married Theresa Ann Goldstein on November 1, 1970, and she survives.
John graduated from Dieterich High School in 1965. He worked at Fedder's in Effingham for 23 years and was a lifelong farmer.
John was a member of the St. Isidore the Farmer parish, Jasper County Farm Bureau and had served on the Jasper County Board.
John enjoyed farming and teaching his grandchildren how to farm. He also enjoyed raising flowers and operating his backhoe.
John is survived by:
Wife of 51 years – Theresa Flinn of Wheeler, Illinois
Children – James Flinn of Wheeler, Illinois; Joseph (Angie) Flinn of Dieterich, Illinois and Ann Edwards of Bourbonnais, Illinois
Grandchildren – Lexie (Kevin) Lohman, Jacob Edwards, Noah Edwards, Zachary Edwards, Faith Flinn, Gracie Edwards, J.D. Flinn, Brooklyn Flinn, McKenzie Flinn and Addison Flinn
Great Grandchild – Layton Lohman
John was preceded in death by his parents.
