John Thomas Veach, age 62

February 5, 1958 – June 24, 2020

John Thomas Veach, age 62, of Greenup, Illinois, passed away at 10:45 PM - Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Visitation will be held 3:00-5:00 PM – Thursday, July 2, 2020, at the Jewett Community Church, with services to follow with Pastor Irvin Figgins officiating.  The family request that you dress casually and wear your St. Louis Cardinals attire to honor John.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois.

John was born on February 5, 1958, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Leonard Jesse and Dorothy Ellen (Whitaker) Veach.  He married Angila Lynn Niccum on July 7, 1979, in Greenup, Illinois.

John had worked at Trailmobile, Casey tool and Evapco.  He served on the Greenup Fire Department for 15 years.

John enjoyed hunting, fishing, drawing and was a avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

John is survived by:

Wife of 40 years – Angila Veach

Mother – Dorothy Whitaker of Herrin, Illinois

Children – Eric (wife Ashley) Veach of Toledo, Illinois and Rachel (husband James) Farris of Lerna, Illinois

Grandchildren – Savannah Zike, Vance Zike, Avery Veach and Alivia Veach

Brother – Mike (wife Tina) Veach of Johnston City, Illinois

John was preceded in death by his father, step mother Peggy Veach and a sister Lynn Veach.
