John Warren "Johnny" Ervin, age 79

John Warren "Johnny" Ervin, age 79, of Greenup, Illinois, passed away at 3:51 PM – Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM – Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the Aten Cemetery north of Hidalgo, Illinois.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois.  The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.

John Warren, better known as "Johnny" was born on November 4, 1943, in Yale, Illinois, the son of Clayton W. and Lanova "Nova" (Swick) Ervin.  He married Madonna Niccum on November 1, 1963, in Hidalgo, Illinois.

Johnny worked at Blaw Knox in Mattoon, for 21 years.  He was an avid Cubs fan and could "fix" anything and enjoyed tinkering with old cars.

Johnny is survived by:

Wife of 59 years – Madonna Ervin of Greenup, Illinois

Children – Robin (husband Mark) Mason of Belleville, Illinois and Brian (wife Emily) Ervin of Greenup, Illinois

Twin Granddaughters – Shelby and Lauren

Great Grandchildren – Lily, Haylie, and Kyler

Sister – Maxine Calvert of Newton, Illinois

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jerry Ervin and Carroll Ervin and a sister Angie Miller.
