Karen Mae Decker, age 56

Karen Mae Decker, age 56, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 12:54 PM - Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

Karen was born on October 2, 1966, in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Larry McGlade and Mary I. (Varvil) McCabe Cotton.  She married Jack Ray Decker on July 27, 2007, and he preceded her in death on August 6, 2022.

Karen worked as an in-home care giver for several years.  She attended Scott Avenue Christian Church in Newton, Illinois.

Karen enjoyed fishing, walking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Karen is survived by:

Children – Jessica (James) Jayne of Newton, Illinois; and David Seibert of Newton, Illinois

Grandchildren – Jodi Cooley, Heavenly Benedict, Jesse Benedict, James Jayne, Jr, Juanita Mae Jayne, Kayton Seibert, Landyn Seibert, and Draven Seibert.

Brother – Richard McCabe of Bethany, Illinois

Sister – Delores Chappel of Windsor, Illinois

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Thomas Benedict, and brothers Larry McGlade, Tommy McCabe, and Ronnie McCabe.
