Karl was born April 13, 1970, the youngest son of Charles and Vivian (Drews) Smith in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Karl loved music. He played the guitar quite well and sang at different events.  Karl was a deep thinker and loved to analyze different situations.

Karl is survived by his brothers:
Roger (Patty) Smith of Opdyke, Illinois
Charles Smith (Melissa Kibler) of Olney, Illinois
Jeff Smith of Murphysboro, Illinois
Rick (Carolyn) Wallace of Liberty, Missouri
and several Nieces and Nephews

Karl was preceded in death by his parents.
