Kenneth Bruce Chapman "Bruce" age 72, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 1:36 PM – Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois.
Graveside service for Bruce, will be held at 10:00 AM- Monday, February 1, 2021 at Westlawn Memorial Park in Newton, Illinois with Amy Jeffries officiating. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .
Bruce was born on March 23, 1948 in Chicago Heights, Illinois the son of Kenneth L. and Gracie Maude (Burk) Chapman. He married Judith Chapman in 1967 and to this union 4 children were born. He later married Kala Sue (Rogers) Buchanan on December 20, 1997 and she survives.
Bruce retired as a Union painter with Local #1705.
He enjoyed many hobbies such as working on Hot Rod cars, fishing, woodworking,
He could be found indoors watching the History Channel or Joel Osteen. He enjoyed quality time with his family and friends, playing monopoly, hosting cookouts. Most of all he loved being a Grandpa, aka Papa Bruce.

Wife of 23 years Kala of Newton, Illinois
Children- John Bruce Chapman (Fiancé Nicole) of Nampa, Idaho; Michael Wayne Chapman of Star, Idaho; Mary Margaret Chapman of Olney, Illinois; Sheri Lee (Ed) Diaz of Edwardsville, Illinois and Jordan (Ashley) Buchanan of Olney, Illinois
Sisters Terrie Chapman of Palestine, Illinois; Cleo Hightshoe of Palestine, Illinois and Sheila (Mark) Menasco of Las Vegas, Nevada
10 Grandchildren- Kent, Clint, Bradley, Tony wife Jess, Chris, Curtis, Alyssa, Payden, Owen and Simon
5 Great- Grandchildren- Rico, Lorelei, Destiny, Eternity, Jenessah
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Jack Hightshoe.
