Kenneth A. Mendenhall, age 74

of Toledo, Illinois passed away at 4:10 AM – Thursday, November 12, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Monday, November 16, 2015 at the Meyer Funeral Home (Formerly Bishop Funeral Home) in Greenup, Illinois with Angie Miller officiating.  Burial will be in the Andrews Cemetery in rural Hidalgo, Illinois with full military rites.  Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the funeral home.

Kenneth was born on February 2, 1941 in rural Hidalgo, Illinois the son Lloyd "Myrl" and Freda (Goebel) Mendenhall.

Kenneth was a member of the Class of 1959 from Newton Community High School in Newton, Illinois.  He served his country in the United States Air Force as Technical Sergeant from December 15, 1968 until September 14, 1973 .

Kenneth was a farmer, printer and a truck driver.  Some of greatest accomplishments include being a doting grandpa and planting over 20,000 trees after his retirement.  He also enjoyed helping his children with the Mendenhall Racing Team.

Kenneth is survived by:

Children – Teri (John) Heath of Toledo, Illinois and John (Charity) Mendenhall of Toledo, Illinois

Grandchildren – Shaun "Pedro", Owen "Twinky", Kayden "Babe", Lilly "Johnny" Layla "Possum" and Blain "Casey".

Sister – Avice Woodard of Hidalgo, Illinois

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law Lance Woodard.
