Of Newton, IL passed away at 8:05 AM – Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM – Friday, November 8, 2013 at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, IL with Fr. Al Kemme celebrating mass. Burial will be in the New St. Peter Cemetery in Newton, IL with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM – Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the church and ½ hour before the mass. Arrangements are under the care of Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL.
Larry was born on October 3, 1940 in Jasper County, IL the son of George F. and Mary (Bergbower) Hippler.
Larry served his country in the United States Army reserves.
Larry was a farmer and carpenter for many years. He was a member of St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and the Old Time Fiddler's Association of Illinois. He was known far and wide as great fiddle player and played in several country music bands over the years. Larry had won several trophies for his fiddle playing and was an Illinois State Championship Fiddle Player having won three first place trophies and many first and second place trophies.
Larry enjoyed building model airplanes and also doll houses for family and friends.

Brother - Richard Hippler of Casey, IL
Nieces and Nephews – Cyndy Miller of Newton, IL; Jim (Jodi) Bond of Chauncey, IL; Amy (Pat) Mullen of Casey, IL; Sarah (Jeremy) Tomes of Clay City, IL
Great Nieces and Nephews – Mary Alice (Zacary) Cochran of Effingham, IL; Jesse Bond of Newton, IL; Cody Brown, Derick Brown and Abigail Mullen all of Casey, IL
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law Donna Hippler.
