Laura Ann (Stovall) Johnson, age 57

Laura Ann Johnson, of Oblong, Illinois, passed away at 7:00 PM - Monday, November 8, 2021, at Marshall Rehabilitation and nursing home in Marshall, Illinois, with her husband by her side.

Laura Ann, known by her family and friends as "Kizie" was born on July 26, 1964, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Jacqueline (Cochrum) Stovall.

Laura worked for many years at United Technologies in Newton, Illinois, until it closed.  She then attended Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, Illinois, earning her Associates degree.  She went on to work at the college in the IT Department.  Most recently Laura worked at Hardees in Robinson, Illinois.

She married Jeffrey Johnson on July 1, 2000, in Oblong, Illinois, and he survives.

Laura enjoyed reading and caring for her grandson Elijah.  She was devoted to her family.

Their 2 Children- Darvin (Amanda) York of Decatur, Illinois and Jaci York of Palestine, Illinois

Grandson- Elijah York of Palestine, Illinois

Brother- Jeff (Laura) Stovall of Riceville, Tennessee

Nephews - Jesse (Gloria) Stovall of Dundas, Illinois; and Eric Stovall (Schyler J. Morgan) of Olney, Illinois

Nieces - Jennifer (Nick) Shaw of Brunswick, Georgia; Alexis Hopkins of Effingham, Illinois and Emilee (Caleb) Chesnut of Memphis, Tennessee

Sister-in-law - Staci (John) Hopkins of Effingham, Illinois

Brother-in-law - Kendall (Leasa) Johnson of Newton, Illinois

Mother-in-law - Jennifer Hawes who passed on November 17, 2021

Laura was preceded in death by her parents and first husband Darvin York who passed on January 14, 1987.
