Obituary
Lee W. Carlen, age 92
Of Louisville, IL passed away at 12:10 A.M. - Sunday, September 21, 2014 at
Burgin Manor in Olney, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM – Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the Meyer Funeral Home (formerly Bishop Funeral Home) in Greenup, IL. Burial will be in the Jack Oak Cemetery north of Greenup, IL with full military rites by the Cumberland County Veterans Association. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
Lee W. Carlen was born on April 19, 1922 in Timothy, IL the son of Thomas and Ethel (Closson) Carlen. He married Mary Ellen Easton on February 7, 1942 in Toledo, IL
and she preceded him in death on December 12, 2013.

Lee served his country in the United States Army during World War II as a medic.
Lee worked at the Ettelbrick Shoe Factory in Greenup, Illinois and Robinson, Illinois
for many years.
He enjoyed watching western movies, woodworking and traveling.
He was a member of the Greenup VFW Post #4598.
Lee is survived by-
3 Children- Dennis (Sheila) Carlen of Dundas, IL
Donna Guyer of Neoga, IL
David (Earlene) Carlen of Decatur, IL
Several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren also survive
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brothers Harold, Thomas, Jr., Kenneth, Charles Carlen; sister Faye Carlen and an infant sister.
