Lelia Marie Rennier, age 97, of Sainte Marie, Illinois, passed away at 10:30 AM – Saturday, April 9, 2022, at her home.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM – Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Sainte Marie, Illinois, with Fr. Dean Probst celebrating mass. Burial will be in the St Mary's Cemetery in Sainte Marie, Illinois. Visitation will be held 9:00-11:00 AM – Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at the church. In loving memory of Lelia, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Lelia was born on April 3, 1925, in Ingraham, Illinois, the daughter of William J. and Margaret Eva (Rudolphi) Bangert. She married Ephrem J. Rennier on December 26, 1946, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on March 20, 1991.
Lelia was a graduate of Newton Community High School with the Class of 1943. She was a cook at Sainte Marie Elementary for many years.
Lelia was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Sainte Marie. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, flowers and sewing.
Lelia is survived by:
Children – Carol Zuber of Olney, Illinois; Margaret (Richard) Geier of Dundas, Illinois; Jane (Jim) Kuhl of Noble, Illinois; Don Rennier of The Bend, Illinois; Sharon (Jeff) Wilson of Dundas, Illinois and Christine Rennier of Sainte Marie, Illinois.
Sister-in-law – Theresa Kirk of Robinson, Illinois
22 Grandchildren 54 Great Grandchildren
1 Great-great grandchild due in June
Lelia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Larry Rennier; granddaughter Beth Armstrong; daughters-in-law Gina Rennier and Barb Rennier Miller and her husband Frank; son-in-law Alvin Zuber; sister Allean Rider; brothers Paul Bangert and Gene Bangert.
