Leon Eugene Croft, age 60
of Gays, Illinois passed away at 12:19 PM - Monday, May 11, 2015 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM – Friday, May 15, 2015 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Montrose, Illinois. Burial will be in the St. Rose Cemetery in Montrose, Illinois. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM – Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the church and ½ hour before the mass. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Greenup, Illinois.
Leon was born on August 16, 1954 in Mattoon, Illinois the son of Eugene G. and Edith (Cox) Croft. He married Virginia (Eason) Sons on November 25, 1997 in Charleston, Illinois and she survives.
Leon was a mechanic and later parts salesman at Newton Farm Pride Case IH dealership in Newton, Illinois for over 40 years.
Leon enjoyed farming, woodworking, gardening, hunting and visiting with his family and friends.

Wife of 17 years – Virginia Croft of Gays, Illinois
Mother – Edith Croft of Greenup, Illinois
Children – Josh Croft (fiancé Ashley Mielke) of Highland Ranch, Colorado
Noel (Pamela) Sons of San Diego, California
Melissa Sons-Ashmore of Mattoon, Illinois
Grandchildren – Kambelle Ashmore, Emily Croft, Elysa Sons, Eleanor Sons and Zoe Croft
Brother – Loren (Denise) Croft of Newton, Illinois
Leon was preceded in death by his father Eugene Croft, sons Jason and Justin Croft and a brother George Croft.
