Leonard Charles Mette, age 90
Of Wheeler, IL passed away at 10:28 AM – Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM – Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bishop Creek, IL with Fr. Sylvano Pera celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Dieterich, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00–7:00 PM Monday, July 28, 2014 at the church. In loving memory of Leonard, memorials may be made to St. Isidore Parish. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, IL

Leonard was born on June 6, 1924 in Bishop Creek, IL the son of Joseph and Clara (Probst) Mette. He married Imelda Catherine Kocher on April 29, 1953 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown, IL.
Leonard retired from Fedder's after 30 years of service and was a farmer. He was a member of the St. Isidore Parish and enjoyed gardening.

2 Children – Suzanne Mette (Fiance' Michael Laue) of Decatur, IL
Mark Mette of Effingham, IL
3 Grandchildren – Travis (Christine) Watkins of Toledo, IL
Adam Mette of Neoga, IL
Braydon Shields of Effingham, IL
3 Great Grandchildren – Dominic Thoele, Nevada Watkins and Paydon Shields
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, sister Emma Friederich and a brother Lawrence Mette.
