Lois, the youngest child of Wallace and Louella (Walker) Colyer, was born on March 15, 1934, on the family farm. She attended and graduated from Edwards County, Illinois public school.   Later, she married Warren (Pep) Skelton on May 27, 1958, in Mississippi. Although Lois and Pep had no children of their own, they loved and were active in many of their nieces and nephew's lives. They eventually moved back to Olney, Illinois, and resided there for the rest of their lives. They maintained a loving marriage of 30 years until Pep's death on November 6, 1988.  Lois worked at several local businesses but spoke fondly of her employment with H & R Block.  She enjoyed reading and collecting Indian artifacts as well as traveling "to the boat" with her sister Gail and other friends. She was an active member of the First Church of Olney and served the church congregation in many ways. Lois's faith as a Christian guided her throughout her life leaving behind a legacy of love, a strong work ethic, and Christian service.

Lois is survived by her nieces and nephews Gail Croft, Gretchen Colyer, Nancy Seale of Texas, Emily Pacheco of Rhode Island, Veda Polfer of Florida, Claudia Krasnoff of St. Louis, Wallace Colyer of Pennsylvania, David Duke of Florida, Wayne Keith Duke and several great nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Warren Skelton and her parents Wallace and Louella Colyer, 5 sisters, Mary Shaw, Eva Lambert, Helen Duke Rinehart, Gail Rusk and 4 brothers Wallace Jr, Henry, Don, and Dale Colyer.
