Mrs. Lois Gwendolyn Ochs, age 98
Of Newton, IL and formerly of rural West Liberty, IL passed away at 3:40 AM – Thursday, September 4, 2014 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
Private family services will be held with burial in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Ste. Marie, IL. Arrangements are under the care of Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Lois was born on July 30, 1916 in Stringtown, IL the daughter of Oliver and Mary
(Heady) Miller. She married Sylvester Ochs in 1931 and he preceded her in death in 1968. She married Clarence "Sam" Ochs in 1969 and he preceded her in death in 2010.
Lois loved visiting, gardening, her huge flower bed and reading. Lois worked at Ettelbrick Shoe Factory in Olney, IL and later E.R. Moore Cap and Gown Factory in Newton, IL. She raised 10 children.
Lois is survived by 7 children – Chlorine (George) Kirts of Ste. Marie, IL; Susan (Ralph) Condrey of Robinson, IL; Lou Ellen (Victor) Frohning of Cisne, IL; Michael (Mary Ellen) Ochs of Pawnee, IL; David (Judy) Ochs of Cypress, TX; Gene (Phyllis) Ochs of Willow Hill, IL and Linda (Bill) Bunting of Fairfield, IL
2 Daughters-in-law- Betty Ochs of Newton, IL and Cathy Ochs of Three Oaks, MI
1 Half-brother Gene Joseph of Martinsville, IL
2 Half sisters- Jane Jones of Paxton, IL and Maxine Rawdin of Hume, IL
Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great- great- grandchildren and great- great- great- grandchildren also survive.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers, 3 sisters, 3 sons Walter, Earl and Orville "Pat" Ochs, grandson Ron Condrey and great-grandson Jordan Lynn.
