Lola Marie Rohr, age 96, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 5:30 PM – Wednesday, May 08, 2019, at the Newton Care Center in Newton, Illinois.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM - Thursday, May 16, 2019, at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, with Fr. Dean Probst celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Newton, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM - Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  In loving memory of Lola, memorials may be made to the St. Thomas School or the Newton Public Library.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

Lola Marie was born on September 20, 1922, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Vernon Kirby and Clara Alice (Bowlby) Kirby.

She married Robert J Rohr On January 22, 1942, at St Thomas the Apostle Church in Newton, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2001.
Lola Marie graduated from Olney High School.  She worked for Pure Oil Company in Olney, Illinois, as her husband served in WW II.  Later in life she worked in Newton at Griffey's Jewelry, The First National Bank and in Olney at AMF.
Lola was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois and Elks.  She enjoyed golf, walking, reading and playing cards.

Children - Peggy (Ed) Astacio of McKinney, Texas and Robert (Cheryl) Rohr Jr. of Newton, Illinois
Grandchildren - Ryan Rohr of Newton, Illinois; Michelle Reed of Flower Mound, Texas; Katherine (Jonathan) Lentini of Highland Village, Texas and Lindsay (Brad) Zuber of Sainte Marie, Illinois.
Great-grandchildren - Landon Rohr, Makenna Rohr, Levi Rohr, Connor Reed, Sophia Lentini and Jackson Lentini
Lola Marie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Dorothy and Betty, her husband Bob and her loving daughter Deborah Ann Rohr.
