Lorene Roberts, age 87

August 8, 1931 – April 12, 2019

Lorene Roberts, age 87, of Dalton, Georgia, and formerly of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 1:50 PM – Friday, April 12, 2019, at her home.

Funeral services celebrating Lorene's life will be held at 11:00 AM - Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM – Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the funeral home.

Lorene was born on August 8, 1931 in Toledo, Illinois, the daughter of Ralph and Blanche (Light) Eggers.  She married Joe Roberts on August 13, 1948, in Morganfield, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on September 30, 2014.

Lorene was a loving wife for 66 years. She was the best mom 3 sons could have asked for.  She was a wonderful grandmother to her 5 grandkids and a loving great-grandmother to her 11 great-grandkids.

Lorene is survived by-

Sons - Jeff Roberts of Dalton, Georgia and Kevin (Patti) of Dalton, Georgia

Daughter-in-law - Carole Roberts of Evansville, Indiana

Grandchildren - Stephanie (Bill) Gray of Evansville, Indiana; Brock Roberts, Brandon (Natalie) Roberts, and Zach (Brittany) Roberts all from Georgia

Great-grandchildren - Kelci, Hunter, & Reagan of Indiana, Ryker, Kaden, Nash, Kallen, Hadley, Bryce, Henley, and Dane all of Georgia

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, son WayneRoberts, and grandson Matt Roberts.  She was also preceded in death by sisters Edith, Thelma, Eloise, and Phyllis Jean.
