Louis James Rieman, age 83
Of Wheeler, IL passed away at 8:12 PM – Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM – Monday, August 4, 2014 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bishop Creek, IL with Fr. Ken Rosswog celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery in Latona, IL with full military rites by the Teutopolis American Legion Post #924. Visitation will be held from 5:00–8:00 PM Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the church and ½ hour prior to mass. In loving memory of Louis, memorials may be made to the Donor's Choice or the Murray Parent Association.

Louis was born on October 12, 1930 in rural Effingham, IL the son of Joseph and Rosa (Schabbing) Rieman. He married Shirley Marlene Jones on November 30, 1957.
Louis served his country in the United State Army during the Korean War.
He was retired from truck driving but continued to work hard on his farm. Louis was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He was a member of the Teutopolis American Legion Post # 924 and the Effingham VFW.
Louis loved his farm animals and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Louis is survived by:
Wife of 56 years - Shirley Marlene Rieman of Wheeler, IL
8 Children - Jane Rieman of Centralia, IL;Peggy (Dave) Schmidt of Dieterich, IL;
Betty (Mike) Clark of Montrose, IL; Judy (Scott) Huelsing of Effingham, IL;
Brenda Markwell of Petersburg, IL; Wanda Rieman of Newtonville, MA;
Jim (Sheila) Rieman of Wheeler, IL; Gary (Mandy) Rieman of Newton, IL
11 Grandchildren - 2 Great-grandchildren - 5 Step-grandchildren
Sister - Agnes Bushue of Norris City, IL
Brother - Richard Rieman of Effingham, IL
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, sister Clara Painter, brother Alphonse Rieman and brothers-in-law Charlie Bushue and Ron Painter.
