Obituary
Lovell Bernard Sparling, age 90
Of Bland, MO passed away at 8:28 AM - Friday, August 3, 2012 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM – Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL with Rev. Stephen Willis officiating. Burial will be in the South Muddy Cemetery in rural Ingraham, IL with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service. Lovell was born on August 18, 1921 in Dieterich, IL the son of Royal Bert and Susan Ann Arvilla (Williams) Sparling. He married Kathryne Stockwell on October 14, 1952 and she preceded him in death on August 21, 1998.
Lovell served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He retired from Continental Can after 37 years of service.
Lovell is survived by:
Sister – Ida Mae Smith of Bakersfield, CA
Several nieces and nephews
Lovell was preceded in death by his parents, wife; 2 brothers Verna Sparling and Ivan Sparling; 3 sisters Dola Lucille Gomez, Dancil Martin and Identa Perry.
