Madonna Louise Ervin, age 80

March 6, 1944 – August 25, 2024

Madonna Louise Ervin, age 80, of Greenup, Illinois, passed away at 10:20 PM on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Cumberland Rehabilitation and Health Care                                                                                                            Center in Greenup, Illinois.

Private services were held, with burial in the Aten Cemetery north of Hidalgo, Illinois.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois.  The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left www.meyerfh.com.

Madonna was born on March 6, 1944, in Woodbury Township, Cumberland County, Illinois, the daughter of Richard and Lucille (Cox) Niccum.  She married John Warren "Johnny" Ervin on November 1, 1963, in Hidalgo, Illinois.  Johnny preceded her in death on October 5, 2023.

Madonna had worked at Ettelbrick Shoe Factory for several years.  She then worked at First National Bank and retired after many years of service.

Madonna is survived by:

Children – Robin (Mark) Mason of Belleville, Illinois and Brian (Emily) Ervin of Greenup, Illinois

Sister – Norma (Don) Griffith of Greenup, Illinois

Brother - Bill (Shirley) Niccum of Greenup, Illinois

Twin Granddaughters – Shelby and Lauren

Great Grandchildren – Lily, Haylie, and Kyler

Sisters-in-law – Maxine Calvert of Newton, Illinois and Judy Wilson of Toledo, Illinois

Madonna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Max Niccum and Roger Niccum.
