Madonna was born on October 17, 1956, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of David and Betty (Frohning) Zwilling. She married Norman Boehl on April 9, 1983, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown, Illinois, and he survives.
Donna graduated from East Richland High School with the Class of 1974. She then went on to study at Olney Central College and Eastern Illinois University, ultimately earning her master's degree. Madonna loved her work as a registered and licensed dietician and consulted for many area hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities, sometimes even juggling up to thirteen facilities each month. At the time of her passing she was still working at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital as well as teaching food sanitation classes.
Donna was a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Sainte Marie, Illinois, where she served on the Family Life Committee, taught religion classes, and gave her time in many other ministries over the years. Madonna was a founding member of The Bend Community Club and held many offices since its beginning in 2012. If you ever attended a BCC event, there is no doubt that Madonna had her hand in the delicious food or planning.
Donna enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved supporting them in all their activities and playing board games with them. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing her baked goods with others.
Donna was a faithful Catholic and enjoyed displaying her collection of over 300 Nativity sets. Her rosary was always nearby, and she would frequently suggest praying instead of counting sheep if you couldn't sleep.
