Marcia Susan Meinhart, age 70

Marcia Susan Meinhart, age 70, of Wheeler, Illinois, passed away at 8:29 AM – Friday, September 29, 2023, at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Thursday, October 5, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Island Grove, Illinois, with Fr. Frank Folino, OFM, celebrating mass.  The burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM – Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the church and again 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Thursday, before the mass in the parish center at Island Grove.  In loving memory of Marcia, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund, PO Box 333, Newton, Illinois 62448.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.  The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.

Marcia was born on December 9, 1952, in Clay County, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Geraldine (Wendt) Clough.  She was united in marriage to James Meinhart on May 27, 1971, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lillyville, Illinois.

Marcia worked for many years at Steven's Industries in Teutopolis, Illinois.  She was a member of St. Isidore Parish and enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Marcia is survived by-

Husband of 52 years- James Meinhart of Wheeler, Illinois

Children – Lucas (Leslie) Meinhart of Newton, Illinois; and Dawn (Eric) Overton of Newton, Illinois

Grandchildren – Andrea Phillips, Seth Meinhart, Hallie Meinhart, Karli Meinhart, Olivia Overton and Amelia Overton

Brothers – Tom (Peg) Clough of Effingham, Illinois; and Rick (Judy) Clough of Jacksonville, Tennessee

Sister – Joyce Ludwig of Springfield, Illinois

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, son Robert Meinhart and brother-in-law Charles Ludwig.
