Margaret Ann Brackett, age 83

Margaret Ann Brackett, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 4:48 AM – Sunday, April 15, 2018, at her home.

Funeral services celebrating Margaret's life will be held at 11:00 AM – Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Nate Hagen officiating.  Burial will be in the Honey Cemetery in Bogota, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service.  In loving memory of Margaret, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

Margaret was born on October 7, 1934, south of Newton, Illinois, the daughter of Orala Brooks Houser and Janelle Martha (Cline) Houser.  She married Sylvan Roy "Sid" Brackett on March 31, 1979, in Newton, Illinois.

Margaret worked at Newton Rest Haven in Newton, Illinois, for several years and was a caregiver to many.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother.

Margaret enjoyed raising flowers and collecting chickens and roosters.

Daughter-in-law – Barb Dickerson of Robinson, Illinois
Grandchildren – Lori Johnson (special friend J.D. Finn), Tom (Julie) Dickerson, Jason (Ann) Dickerson, Wendy (Chet) Dobbins, Garrett (Sacha) Dickerson, Jana Dickerson (fiancé Albert Davis), Nicole Brackett, Glenn (Ashley) Beard, III, John "B.J."
